In 1972, the Centralia School District suffered a double-levy failure, which among other cuts, resulted in the loss of District funding for extracurricular activities.
Knowing this, a handful of community citizens stepped up to fundraise money for the District's athletic programs. This unofficial group called themselves the Tall Tigers.
With the help of the Tall Tigers, the District was able to continue offering its full slate of athletics to its students.
In 2020, we again suffered a double-levy failure, the first in 48 years. With the possibility of cuts to athletics, Centralia Athletics Activities & Facilities Foundation (CAAFF) resurrected the Tall Tigers campaign to help save athletics. This very website was created to help collect donations for our cause, which helped keep all athletic programs alive for our students.
In 2023, another double-levy failure occurred, and CAAFF again stepped up and helped pay for athletic transportation to ensure all students could participate.
To this day, we continue to use this website as a fundraising mechanism. At least 25% of the proceeds from Tiger swag sales and 100% of donations support our efforts to ensure that quality athletic programs remain a staple of our students' experiences.
Stand up. Stand out. Stand TALL
GO TIGERS!!
